Lakshmi Ramgopal is uncategorizable. She's a musician, a writer, and an ancient historian who holds a PhD in Classics from the University of Chicago and explores identity, mobility, and the concept of the archive. She has written on the intersections of race and the occult; authored scholarship on cultural change in the Roman Empire; and released electronic ambient music and toured internationally as Lykanthea, the moniker under which she creates multidisciplinary performances and installation work. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and is working on her first book and second album, living between Boston and Chicago.
